Registering an Association

Our private initiative is to become an official association in Austria, to create more transparency among other things. At the end of August 2023, with the help of a friend that is a laywer, we have already created our association statutes. These are now being reviewed by a tax advisor to ensure that we will be considered as “non-profit” by the tax office. As soon as this is done, we will apply for registration at the BH Dornbirn (Vorarlberg) and report to the tax office. Four to six weeks later, TENEBO should be an official association.

The establishment of a non-profit association not only brings us advantages, such as a professional appearance or tax benefits, but above all, it has significant advantages for our supporters. As a registered non-profit association, we are obliged to publish annual reports and financial statements. With that we create transparency, what is happening with the donations and it is ensured that each donation arrives exactly where it is needed. Because transparency is important to us. Furthermore, as a non-profit organization we are allowed to issue tax certificates, which can be used for tax purposes.

The association is founded with four board members. Emmanuel becomes chairman of TENEBO and Melanie becomes his deputy and also takes over the tasks of auditor and secretary. And since our friends Jasmine and Justina have supported us from beginning, with a lot of heart and a huge commitment to TENEBO and the Massai community in Mgora, we have decided to officially accept them as founding board members. Because only together we can reach our goal – that is what TENEBO stands for. That is what WE stand for.
