Building Plot found

The Maasai in Mgora, Tanzania, live in a community. And everything that happens in this community is also discussed together. It was therefore an important step for TENEBO to have a meeting with the Maasai elders and the “leaders” of the community. Of course, this also took place before the project started in order to get the community’s approval for the project.

Another community meeting was held on January 15. Around 50 people were present. Among them were the men and women of the Maasai community and also the pastor of Mgora, who was there as a representative of the mayor.

Prayer is said at the beginning of every meeting. Afterwards, Melanie, with the help of Emmanuel’s translation, explained in detail what has happened at TENEBO so far and what the next steps are.

Each participant then has the chance to speak and decisions are made together.

Among other things, we were allocated a piece of building land by the community at this meeting, on which our TENEBO kindergarten can be built. This land was made available to us at no cost.

It is currently still overgrown. The Maasai community has now started to clear this land of bushes.

At the end of the meeting, we prayed once again for the community and for TENEBO.
