On 24 December, we celebrated a small but very special Christmas party with our nursery school children. The children were allowed to bring their siblings along, and we sang, laughed and celebrated together. There was chai (tea), mandazi and bananas – and, above all, lots of sparkling children’s eyes.
After the party, we invited the families who benefited from our Christmas campaign. Thanks to your wonderful support, we were able to give 35 families a very special Christmas present:
100 kg of maize and
2 kg of seeds per family
This gift means so much more than food. It means hope.
The situation is extremely difficult right now: the rainy season should have started two months ago, but there has been no rain to date. People and animals are suffering from the ongoing drought.
The seeds give families the opportunity to act immediately as soon as the rain starts. Maize can be planted, grown and contribute to self-sufficiency in the long term – sustainably and under their own steam.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who made this Christmas campaign possible.
Your help is making a difference. It gives hope. And it changes lives.
