Our Project

Learn more about our amazing project TENEBO.

TENEBO” means “together” in the language of the Maasai.

Because we are convinced that together we can achieve everything.

And in the Maasai community in Mgora (Tanzania), community is also an incredibly important part in their culture.

Let’s make a difference together!

“It is my passion to do something. And there is a lot to do.
But for me, the most important thing is to start with education.”

— Emmanuel, Founding Member TENEBO

The nearest school (Primary School) for the children of Mgora, is in a village called Chang’ombe, about 25 minutes walking distance. There are only four rooms for all the children from the surrounding villages. But not every of these rooms has been finished. There are only a few tables and chairs. The floor is sandy and the windows and walls were never finished.

Our Mission

What is completely missing is something for the little ones. There is no kindergarten. And especially a kindergarten would be so important for the children’s development. The children would not only learn in a playful way, but they would also learn many important things for their lives. Starting with social behavior, personality development and discovering their own abilities.

Together with trained teachers, we are working on a concept that can be implemented with the teachers in Tanzania, even with limited resources..

What is missing is the right environment. Rooms that are accessible to all children, that are equipped to make them feel comfortable and, above all, that have sanitary facilities.

In order to be able to start the project, the Massai community has made the church available to us.

In the first step we use the church as a room for our TENEBO kindergarten. Two teachers have already been assigned to work there from with the children from Monday to Friday for 3-4 hours a day.

In the next step, we will look for a piece of land, which will be easily accessible for all children, in order to build there the right kindergarten including sanitary facilities.

In Tanzania we are getting the support of the Massai community and the local leaders of teachers. Through this help, we are also in contact with the school authorities. Because it is important to us our project and our kindergarten will be officially recognized by the government.

In the future, we would also like to renovate the school and offer sponsorships, so that really every child has the chance to attend school.

Of course, there are many more ideas, such as health insurance for the children.

Because together we can achieve everything – that’s what TENEBO stands for.
