In 2023, it all began with an idea. With the desire to create a place in Mgora, Tanzania, where children can learn, play, and grow — a place that opens real opportunities for their future.
Today, two years later, this kindergarten truly stands before us. Fully built. Tangible. And full of meaning.
When we were in Mgora in December 2025 and January 2026, we were able to see the finished kindergarten with our own eyes for the very first time. A moment that is hard to put into words — filled with gratitude, pride, and deep emotion.
An unforgettable moment: The official opening
During our stay, we also officially opened and blessed the kindergarten.
As our time on site was limited, this step was especially important to us — and it became one of the most moving moments in the history of our association.
Around 250 guests celebrated this special occasion with us: the Maasai community, residents of the surrounding villages, regional representatives, the mayors, and, as guest of honor, the district commissioner. The priest blessed the kindergarten before the ribbon was ceremonially cut.
The opening was accompanied by singing, dancing, and an infectious joy, making this day truly unforgettable.
A Community That Touches the Heart
The great appreciation and gratitude shown to us on this day deeply moved us.
Food was also provided for everyone — rice, vegetables, goat meat, and drinks — making it a true celebration of community.
Soon filled with life
The tables and benches have already been ordered.
Once they arrive and the school holidays are over, the children will move into their new kindergarten and fill it with life — exactly what it was built for.
