Our stay in Mgora

Our stay in Mgora, Tanzania, was characterized by intensive encounters, exciting projects and, above all, the hope that we were able to create through our work on site. Vice Chairman Melanie spent three weeks in Mgora to work on site with the people and projects. Our chairman Emmanuel is still on site and is staying for a total of 1.5 months. At the beginning of our stay, it was still the Christmas vacations, but after they ended, we had an intensive exchange with the teachers at the kindergarten and took a close look at the progress on site.

Our projects in Mgora

Christmas campaign: 100 kg of maize for a family

Together, we have managed to distribute over 5000 kg of maize to needy families in Mgora and the surrounding villages. The maize, which serves as main food, can feed a family for one to two months, depending on its size – a much-needed support in difficult times.

This time, several collection points were set up from which the maize was taken to the families’ homes on donkeys and motorcycles. We are particularly pleased that we were able to buy the maize from various local farmers. In this way, we were not only able to support families in need, but also strengthen local agriculture.

It was touching to hear the stories of the people who urgently need this help. The gratitude on the ground was indescribable and showed us how important our work is.
We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved with your support. Thank you to everyone who donated and believed in this project. Together we are making a difference!

A Christmas miracle for Ndengui and his family!

Thanks to the generous support of a wonderful donor, we were able to make Ndengui and his family very happy. Last year, her help enabled him to receive an urgently needed wheelchair – a milestone that has made his life much easier.

This year, she thought of him again for Christmas:
We were able to hand over a cow – a real lifesaver in Maasai culture. In addition, there were clothes for Ndengui and his mother as well as some toys for him and his siblings.
The joy and gratitude of the family are indescribable!

Many thanks to our donor, whose compassion and generosity have made a lasting difference to the lives of this family. Together we can achieve so much!

Women’s health & hygiene kits

Another important seminar on women’s health was held with the women from the village. It was led by Fatina, an experienced nurse and midwife with over 10 years of experience.

The women were able to ask their questions and discuss important topics in a private and trusting atmosphere. As part of the seminar, we also distributed self-sewn hygiene kits to the young women – the fabric for which was generously sponsored by “Sperger Stoffe” in Lustenau.

This day shows how important education and support are for women’s health. Our aim is to provide even more women in the surrounding families with hygiene kits in the future and to offer further seminars.
Out of respect for privacy, we only took a few photos – but this day will stay in our hearts all the more.

Thank you to everyone who makes our work possible!

We are grateful for the opportunity to experience these changes and look forward to continuing to work alongside the people of Mgora to improve their living conditions in the long term.

Thank you for all that we have achieved together so far.
