Wheelchair for Ndengui

Ndengui is an 8-year-old boy who attends our kindergarten. Unfortunately, he has a physical disability and is therefore unable to walk independently. Thanks to a generous donation, we were able to give Ndengui a wheelchair during our stay in early 2024. The wheelchair is a great support for him to be able to participate in everyday life. He also received a warm sweater, a school bag and toy cars. We were able to buy the family 100 kg of maize, which is processed into ugali, which is the main food here. This is enough maize to feed the family for a month.

Ugali is a type of maize porridge/polenta. The maize is dried and ground into flour. To prepare ugali, the corn flour is then boiled with water until it forms a solid mass. It is then eaten together with cooked vegetables such as potatoes and tomatoes with a little sauce.

The family is infinitely grateful! And we, TENEBO, would also like to thank them wholeheartedly for this generous donation.
